FAQ

Do you store any content?

No. Skippy does not cache or copy any page content. We only store minimal routing metadata: the IP address, domain name, and an expiry timestamp. this data is automatically removed after 60 days.

When do preview links expire?

Each link lasts 60 days from when it’s created. After that, it’s automatically deleted and will stop working.

Why do some fonts or assets not load?

Some resources (like custom fonts, scripts, or embedded content) may not load if the original site blocks them with CORS or CSP headers. This is normal and helps protect the original site from cross-origin access.

Will Google or search engines index my preview?

No. Skippy adds an X-Robots-Tag: noindex header to all responses and doesn’t expose previews to crawlers.

Can I use Skippy with a local development site?

Skippy only works with public IP addresses that are accessible from the internet. It doesn’t support private LAN IPs or localhost setups.

Does HTTPS work with self-signed certificates?

Yes! Skippy skips SSL validation on upstream connections, so even sites using self-signed or expired certificates will still work securely via Skippy’s proxy.

Is there any limits?

To keep the service fast for everyone, Skippy allows up to 3 previews every 10 seconds, 25 per hour, and 100 per day from the same IP address. If you hit the limit you’ll see a “Rate limit exceeded” message – just wait a bit and try again.

Can I delete a preview early?

Not yet — but this feature is planned. For now, previews are auto-deleted after 60 days, or you can contact us for early removal. you can email us at contact@previewmyweb.site
